Carrots

FINIS has developed several processing systems for carrots. These systems can peel, cut and/or profile and are built up from several machines which each contribute their own part. This makes it possible for us to comply with your wishes regarding capacity and final product.

Peeling of carrots
Finis has developed several different systems, each with their own unique characteristics. These systems are similar to the peeling systems used to peel potatoes. To find more information on the different machines and processes please have a look at the potato section on this site.

The systems used for carrots are:
  • Carborundum peeling
  • Knife peeling

    Profiling
The profiling of carrots creates perfect round balls. These balls are made out of small pieces of carrots of approximately 25-30mm. (the sizes may vary a little)

The small carrot pieces are fed into a pre-peeler and very shortly peeled to get rid of the outer skin. Directly afterwards they are fed into the profiler to make perfect round balls. The input product into the profiler has to be approx 4-6 mm. larger compared to the desired end product, this to obtain a perfect round ball.

The profiling of carrots is quite similar to the profiling of potatoes. You can find some more information about the machine in the section of potatoes profiling.
